1. who do you think is my targeted audience, and do you think that it appealed to this audience?
2. how do you think that particular social group/fans of this genre are represented? do you think that it represents the social gender, ethnicity and class in a positive or negative light?
3. which parts in particular do you think will appeal most to my audience
4. what do you think can be improved
5. Looking back at my college magazine, how much do you think I improved since then?
1) I Think the targeted audience of you magazine is young fans possibly between the ages of 16-30 years old who are fans of Indie music. I think your magazine will appeal to this audience has you have made it obvious on the front cover (the first thing they will see) what features inside as well as mentioning popular bands of this genre.
ReplyDelete2) I think social groups are shown positivly throughout your magazine. i think your magazine is targeted at the working class. You have shown ethnicity positivly in your magazine.
3)I think the audience will like the list of items that feature inside as they mention bands or artist that have a good fanbase within this genre.
4) There isnt much that you could improve on:
Front Cover: i would suggest possibly re thinking where you would lay out each cover story as some parts are left empty.
Contents Page: I think your contents page is the strongest out of all 3 the only thing i can think of it maybe filling the space next to the top albums.
Double Page Spread: Not much to improve only thing is maybe getting ride of the smaller image on the page and moving the text boxes over to the centre.
5) You have improved A LOT!
your use of photoshop and InDesign has come a long way and has helped you to produced a professional looking Front Cover, Contents and Double Page spread.
1- I think that your target audience are mostly young females that are around the age of 16-20years old(Probably 60%female and 40%male).I came to the conclusion that your fan base is mostly young teenage girls becuase of the amount of male artists that are in your content page. This will definatly attract young girls to your music magazine, especially because of the images of a boy band you added in your content page. You are targetting this gender and age group correctly. I think your magazine targets people that are intrested in the indie music becuase of the boy band that you added in your magazine works in this genre too.
ReplyDelete2 - I think that you portrayed the fans of indie music are portrayed positively because there isn't any negative stereotypes that are being portrayed in your magazine. You have included a large majority of races in your magazine so your not discriminating against any particular ethnicities. This shows me that people that are interested in indie music can be of any culture or race.
ReplyDelete3 - I think that your front cover will be very appealing to the readers of your magazine. This is because the layout of your text has a professional look to it and also the use of your colour scheme in your text looks great. Your target audience who I think are mostly girls will definitely love your image of your featured artist. This is because you included a very good quality picture of an decent looking asain guy in your front cover.
ReplyDelete4 - I think you could improve the image that you added in your content page (the full body picture of your featured artist) you could do this by includong his feet in the image so his body doesn't look out of proportion.
ReplyDelete5 - your college magazine looks extremely horrible compared to your music magazine. I would elaborate by saying that your content page in your music magazine ONLY HAS ONE IMAGE and no text! It looks like an amature made it when you compare it to your very professional looking content page in your music magazine. By also comparing the two magazines I have also come to the conclusion that your editing skills on Photoshop and InDesign have increased dramatically. Your photography skills in have also improved in your music magazine and you can easily by comparing the two magazines. Good job Sarah!
